A New Name for the Same Work: Welcome to Nicole Marcia Therapy
After many years of practice, I'm making a change to my practice name.
Fine Balance is now Nicole Marcia Therapy.
While the name is changing, the heart of my work is not.
Why the change?
When I first chose the name Fine Balance, it reflected an important part of how I understood my work: the relationship between mind and body, between challenge and resilience, and between the different parts of ourselves that influence how we experience life.
Those ideas are still important to me.
But over time, my practice has become increasingly focused on a particular group of people: the helping and healing professionals who spend their working lives holding space for others—nurses, social workers, therapists, first responders, healthcare professionals, and others whose work asks them to respond to people in moments of crisis, vulnerability, or profound need.
Nicole Marcia Therapy is a name that speaks plainly to who I am and who I work with, rather than to a concept. If you'd like the fuller story of how my focus shifted, I've written about that [here], and about the trauma-informed work I do with crisis-response and healthcare professionals [here].
What's staying exactly the same
The same person, the same care. I'm still Nicole Marcia, MA, MC, RCC, C-IAYT, and my clinical approach hasn't changed.
The same clinical foundation. My work remains clinical counselling grounded in trauma-informed care, drawing on somatic and yoga therapy-informed tools when they're useful.
The same contact details and hours. You can still reach me at nicole@fbcounselling.ca or 778 651 3295, Tuesday–Friday, 8:30am–5:45pm.
The same booking process. If you're an existing client, nothing changes—your sessions, your booking link, and our work together continue as they are.
What's new
A new name: Nicole Marcia Therapy.
A new web address: you'll now find me at nicolemarciatherapy.ca.
A continuing commitment
The name has changed, but my commitment to this work remains the same: supporting the people who spend their professional lives supporting others, in a space where you don't have to be the strong one, the capable one, or the person who has everything figured out.
If you're a current client, thank you for being part of this practice through its evolution. If you're new here, welcome—I'd be honoured to work with you.
